Want to know what Microsoft has been doing with Linux and open source? Microsoft has been working with the open source community to build open and interoperable technology solutions across the Microsoft platform stack including PC, cloud, and phone. Today, thousands of open standards are supported by Microsoft and many open source environments including Linux, Hadoop, MongoDB, Drupal, Joomla and others, run on our platform.
Microsoft Open Technologies has been established to focus on interoperability with open source projects and help facilitate the interaction between Microsoft’s core development processes, the company’s open innovation efforts and relationships with open source and open standards communities. This talk will highlight some of the recent open source projects undertaken by Microsoft and will demonstrate some recent developments that are benefiting the open source community. In addition, there will be Demos of open source projects and Linux on Windows Azure.
